The replacements dogma explains a relative few, but more recently the thousands that have been added in recent years are explained as mentally or emotionally disturbed. I don't have a link, but it was in Questions From Readers.

Interested in a refresher about the anointed
by frozen2018 ini've had very little to do with jw's since the early 1990's.
however, i do try to stay a little informed on what they are up to as i have several close relatives who are devout.
i rely on this site to keep me updated.. over the weekend i learned that a couple of my relatives, a father and son, have decided that they are anointed and had some bread and wine at the last memorial.

Hitting the fan: CD epidemic at my Hall
by neat blue dog inyesterday my congregation met for field service and the elder taking the lead did something not so smart: he brought up the child abuse situation and the recent news articles hitting local news across the country.
he said 'you can see that the persecution is really coming' and that we should be ready if someone complains about it at the door.
(funny how it's persecution when it's us and righteous judgment when it happens to the other churches.

why did false religion like the Catholics suffer persecution when its organization recently went through penalties and law suits
That's different because they're false religion.
Why?
Because Jehovah didn't appoint them his Slave.
How do we know?
Because the Slave said so.
Why can we trust them?
Because they're the true religion.
See what I did there?

Diogenesister:
Excellent idea, I will keep that in mind. I was a little more blunt and just said what I said here. But I got away with it lol.

(Funny how it's persecution when it's us and righteous judgment when it happens to the other churches.) Before long everyone was googling it right there in the Kingdom Hall on their tablets and phones. There was a lot of cognitive dissonance going around. With some it manifested as awkward, weak apologetics. With most it was just uncomfortable silence. We all went out to eat right after . . . And NOBODY ended up going out in service that day!

Do you believe in a Rapture that the Churches teach instead of living on earth forever
by Alex Williams inits taken from 1 thessalonians 4:13-17. now jesus compared the end to the days of noah .
but as the days of noah were, so shall also the coming of the son of man be.
why did he compare the two and does it give us a clue to which teaching is the right one?.

Yes, paradise is in heaven. Not a single reference to resurrection to earth mentioned in the new testament. Explicitly the exact opposite:

First of all, there's a new imaginary picture of JWs during the Great Tribulation:
Then there's a picture of a JW family refusing to listen to "Apostate lies" via pre-programed, self imposed information control:
The description says:
When a report
appears on TV about apostates who spread lies
about Jehovah’s Witnesses, a Witness family
right away turns off the TV. Later, during family
worship, the father uses a Bible passage to
strengthen the faith of the family. -

Weird Jehovah’s Witnesses
by minimus inis it my imagination or are most witnesses weird, odd, and “different “?
it seems every congregation has a couple of weirdo elders, pioneers and ministerial servants.
and then you see those witnesses who attend meetings but most people seldom associate with them because... they are eccentric..

That goes with the territory. Most JWs who converted as adults have some emotional deficiency that led them down that path, and most born-ins have to subconsciously suppress their normality. So no matter how you end up there the results aren't usually good. Aka weird.
